German singer/songwriter Tommy Ocean returns with his second studio album HungrySoul on April24th, 2020, entirely recorded live! Only in one song („Carry On“) some instruments were added later on (electric guitar, percussion, backing vocals), giving the listener a truly organic, plastic-free experience of what is still possible in 2020 with voice, guitar and harmonica!
The set contains new original material as well as
reworked versions of some of his previously released
tracks („Another Day, Another Time“, „The Present“,
„Lonely Days“). „Hungry Soul“ is about the
movements of a soul that refuses to give up. The
„Four Wheel Spaceship“ likes to carry the spirit away
from sadness, deception and despair. „Cannot Live“
reminds us of love as the essential force of life,
turning „darkness into light“. „Carry On“ gives us hope
in catastrophes of biblical extent: „There is a place for
you and for me“. „Lonely Days“ describes what
happens with our days when we let go our own true
love.„Gone With the Wind“ tells us that we are born free as everyone around us and that our actions will have consequences.
„Moments“ reminds us to cherish the time we have here and that nothing will remain except the moments itself in our or someone else’s memory. „Utopia“ deals with a journey of two lovers
realizing that they’ve already arrived. „The Present“ is a song that only love at first sight can produce, chaotic and wild (don’t be fooled by the soft sole it arrives on)- The very song that Romeo would sing to his Juliet in Capulet’s orchard these days. „The Present“ was able to catapult Tommy, while in London, from open mic to radio airplay! What a present that was, wasn’t it?! „Another Day, Another Time“ might be one of the greatest songs a German singer/songwriter has ever written in English language-Probably become one of these songs that outlive us and may be heard in 100+ years! This great work of art already won an award on Reverbnation. „Libertine“ closes the chapter and refers to the freedom of thinking
